Detonator for a parachute-stabilised or strip-stabilised submunition

A submunition has a self-destruction device (4) which is already detonated when the stabilisation parachute is opened once the submunition has been ejected from the artillery shell. A pyrotechnic self-destruction device (4) is provided for this purpose, consisting of a delay charge (22) with a friction-detonating device (26 to 28) on the input side. If no impact detonation takes place, the self-destruction device (4) acts in such a way that the detonator (22), and hence the explosive charge (10) of the submunition (1), are detonated. Unexploded submunitions are therefore prevented. <IMAGE>
