The invention relates to a flying machine of the motorised ultralight type, comprising a shrouded fuselage underslung from a wing and provided with a retractable propellor, for allowing gliding flight. The propellor 20 is mounted on an articulated frame comprising two lateral legs 244, articulated to the rear of the fuselage 6 on a slide 250 whose longitudinal position is controlled by a cable, and a forward leg 245. The latter may be constituted by a transmission shaft linking the engine 36 to the propellor. The propellor support 221 is integral with the lateral legs 244, so that the propellor is inclined backwards during withdrawal manoeuvres and does not run the risk of coming into contact with a wing element. According to one variant, the engine is mounted on the articulated chassis and may be taken out of the fuselage. <IMAGE>
