A field plug for an electric motor having a stator, rotor and field winding has a flat, elongated shaft (18) which has cable connecting means at one end and is provided at the other end with a contact tongue (19) for insertion between field-winding terminals of the stator. The shaft (18) is provided with at least one laterally projecting blade contact (20) which is connected to the shaft (18) only via a first part (21) and is separated from the shaft (18) via a second, free part (22) in order to clamp a capacitor connection in between them. <IMAGE>
