PURPOSE:To manufacture an electrostatic recording head requiring a reduced time for formation of an electrostatic latent image by a relatively simple process, by forming two discharge electrodes insulated from each other on one surface of a substrate by using a thick film technique or a thin film technique. CONSTITUTION:Two discharge electrodes 44 and 45 formed of screen-printed and baked gold paste are provided on one surface of a ceramic substrate 42 with an insulating layer 46 formed of screen-printed and baked glass paste being interposed between them, and they are connected to an alternating current source 47. When a high voltage of high frequency is impressed on the electrodes 44 and 45, positive and negative ions are generated alternately, and almost all of them are carried and sent into a passage 14 by an airflow sent from a duct 5 into a chamber 43 through an inlet slit 48. At this time, a switch 17 is controlled in accordance with a picture signal, and thereby modulation is conducted to form an electrostatic latent image. Since almost all of the generated ions are sent into the passage 14, a time for forming the electrostatic latent image is reduced. Since it is difficult to prepare a structure wherein a modulation electrode 16 intersects with a lead electrode 16a perpendicularly, a modulation electrode 52 and a lead electrode 52a are provided together on one surface of a circuit board 51. |
