摘要 A method and a corresponding appliance for the determination of nitrogen in a sample are known, in which the sample is burnt under oxygen in a combustion tube (combustion zone), the gaseous products formed, such as nitrogen and/or nitrogen oxides, are transferred to an analytical device where they are then quantitatively detected as nitrogen. In order to provide an environmentally safe method for determining nitrogen, which moreover permits the analysis of substantial amounts of sample without incurring the risk of an explosive deflagration and without any inhomogeneity of the sample having a significant influence on the result of the analysis, the sample is burnt in an inert, nitrogen-free, oxygen-enriched carrier gas, and any condensation products which after the combustion may have been deposited upstream of the combustion zone on the wall of the combustion tube are volatilised by being baked out and are passed to the analytical device.
