Composition for welding and/or brazing based on tin, in particular for assembling by welding metallic elements such as commercial zinc elements. It contains, by weight, between 8.5 and 9.5 % of zinc, at most 0.05 % of lead, the remainder being tin and its melting point in the vicinity of that of the zinc-tin eutectic is greater than 190 DEG C. Application to the production of zinc-sheet assemblies which must resist curing temperatures in the vicinity of 190 DEG C.
