PURPOSE:To enable stable recording to be conducted with high density, high quality and excellent light resistance while preventing an ejecting orifice from being clogged, by controlling the sum of the concentration of chloride ions and the concentration of sulfate ions in a water-color ink to within a specified wt% range. CONSTITUTION:The sum of the concentration of chloride ions (Cl<->) and the concentration of sulfate ions (SO4<-->) in a dye liquid composition prepared by dissolving required compounds in water or a water-containing mixed solvent is controlled to within the range of 0.001-0.2wt% by ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis or the like. The ink thus prepared can have a well-balanced combination of excellent ink jet recording characteristics, preservation stability and fixability onto a recording material and excellent light resistance, weather resistance, water resistance or the like of recorded images. |
