[Also in Division G2] The invention comprises substituted pyrazolones of the general formula where at least two of X 1 , X 2 and X 3 are chlorine or bromine atoms, the other group X when not a chlorine or bromine atom being a hydrogen atom, Y is a direct link or an acyl linkage group selected from -CO.CH 2 .NH- or a group of the formula and R is an acyl group derived from a monocarboxylic acid, containing at least one alkyl group of at least five carbon atoms. The compounds may be prepared by reacting a compound of the formula where X 1 , X 2 and X 3 have the meanings assigned to them above and B is a hydrogen atom, a group -CO.CH 2 .NH 2 or a group of the formula with an acylating agent, e.g. an acyl chloride. Examples describe the preparation of a large number of compounds where the groups represented by -Y-R in Formula II are 2: 4-ditert - amylphenoxyacetyl, 3 - (2: 4 - di - tertamylphenoxyacetylamino) benzoyl, stearoyl, lauroyl, 4 - tert - amylphenoxyacetyl, α - (2: 4- di - tert - amylphenoxy) n - butyryl, γ-(2: 4- di - tert - amylphenoxy) - n - butyryl, 4-(4-tertamylphenoxyacetylamino) benzoyl and 3-[α- (2: 4 - di - tert - amylphenoxy) - n butylamino] benzoyl. |
