[Also in Division A5] The invention relates to compounds of the general formula wherein x is chlorine and/or methyl and n is 1 to 5. The compounds may be prepared by the condensation of (a) substituted anilines of the general formula with α-cyanoethyl chloroformate, (b) substituted N-phenolcarbamoyl chlorides of the general formula with α-cyanoethyl alcohol or (c) by the reaction of substituted phenyl isocyanates of the general formula with α-cyanoethyl alcohol.
