PURPOSE:To stabilize the electrostatic chargeability and dispersibility of a negative chargeable liquid developer by dispersing a resin consisting of the condensation product of an oxycarboxylic acid and coloring agent into a carrier liquid having a high insulating characteristic and low dielectric constant. CONSTITUTION:The condensation product of the oxycarboxylic acid is obtd. by the condensation polymn. of the oxycarboxylic acid having a hydroxy group and carboxyl group in one molecule. For example, the condensation product of 1,2-oxydodecanoic acid, 14-oxyhexadecanoic acid are used. Petroleum aliphat. hydrocarbon, for example, isooctane, nonane and decane are used for the carrier liquid. The resin consisting of the condensation product of the oxycarboxylic acid and the coloring agent (carbon black, etc.) are added into the carrier liquid and are kneaded, by which the liquid developer for electrostatic photography is obtd. Since the condensation product of the oxycarboxylic acid is incorporated into the developer, the developer having the excellent charge stability and dispersion stability is obtd. |
