A sports ground and/or playground, in particular tennis court, has a base course made of plastic-bonded granules. On the granular-structured surface of this base course is disposed a wearing surface made of a novel construction material. This construction material consists of a mineral grain composition with grain size 0/3 the grains of which are impregnated and/or covered with a polyhydric alcohol. The polyhydric alcohol is in particular an aliphatic, at least weakly hygroscopic polyhydroxy compound. Exemplary compounds include glycerine and polyethylene glycol with an average molecular weight of 300 to 600. For the production, the construction material is preferably applied to the moist, not yet completely cured plastic/granule course.
