<p>Articles are receivers, bars, tubes, joints etc. The process comprises (a) application of a base coating to each surface (b) assembly of one or pair of tube(s) of glass having softening point is not > that of base coating, juxtaposed to the base coatings(s) but with a cavity between tube and coating (c) heating the assembly to soften the tubes to extract air and other gases, to force the tube(s) to contact the coating(s) and bind. Spec. base coating is a kaolin/NaNO3 mixture.</p> |
