PURPOSE:To enable a printing-starting position and a printing-ending position to be easily set, by providing an initial position determining device for feeding the leading end of a paper to a predetermined position relative to a printing head, a head position controlling part for controllingly moving the reception position of the printing head relative to the paper, and a control data storage part for storing the ordinate of the reception position of the head. CONSTITUTION:An initial position determining device 11 controls the position of the leading end of a paper being introduced relative to a printing head, and feeds the paper by a preset amount. After setting a printing paper to a printer, a reception position moving key 101 is operated to feed the paper to a top margin setting position. A signal S2 is inputted from a head position controlling part 12, and the ordinate of the reception position of the printing head relative to the paper is counted. When the paper is fed to the top margin setting position, a setting key 102 is depressed, whereby a value held by a counter 13 is stored into a control data storage part 16 as a reception position of the printing head for setting a top margin. Similarly, a reception position of the head for setting a bottom margin is also stored into the storage part 16. Accordingly, the control data for the top and bottom margin setting positions can be stored for each kind of paper. |
