The power control relay has at least two thresholds for controlling at least two power consumptions, particularly those corresponding to a period during which multiple tariffs are to be applied. It comprises units 24, 28 for cyclic measurement of the power consumed, a unit 25 for setting up the average power thresholds not be exceeded during a measurement cycle, a unit 26 for selecting one of the thresholds as a function of the conditions of use of the relay, a unit 27 for comparing the power measured by the cyclic measurement unit with the selected power threshold, and a unit 30 for triggering a single contact breaker 15 when the said threshold is exceeded. <IMAGE>
