Electrically driven shears in which the fixed blade or hook (2) is mounted on the body (1) of the shears and the movable blade (4) articulated on this body is either attached to a connecting rod (18) or driven by a blade-cam holder (26) set in motion by rotating rollers (28). The connecting rod is coupled, or the rollers fixed, on an annular gear (14) or (29), meshing either directly by means of an endless screw, or by means of one or more reduction stages. The screw being driven by an electric motor (7), the whole assembly constitutes a tool specifically adapted to the cutting of plants such as vines, fruit trees or the like, small shrubs in nurseries, plants, etc. <IMAGE>
