A process for producing patterned effects on textile materials comprises application of a liquor, e.g. dye solution, to the material followed by a treatment with a heated die having a pattern thereon, migration of the liquid to those parts of the material treated with the die takes place. Apparatus for the above process comprises means for applying liquid to the material, a die with a pattern on it and means for moving the textile material over the die (heated) and in contact with it. Patterned effects are obtained with reactive, direct, azoic, sulphur and vat dyes on mercerised cotton twill fabrics.</p> |
