<p>The jig is designed to allow a shoe and upper to be correctly aligned prior to gluing, the jig maintaining their position during gluing. The jig is hydraulically and electronically assisted. The jig has an overall rectangular form with an electronically controlled piston mechanism at either side of one end which slides parallel to the jig main axis. The pistons (1) move on fixed guides (4). A pair of parallel slides (13) carry arms (7) which can be adjusted (8) to regulate the height of the sides and the angle (9) again w.r.t. the axis. Pressure is maintained against the shoe heel rear surface by a shaped rest (14). The movement of the rest drives a rack and pinion (10) associated with an electronic position sensor (11). The sensor output is processed (2) and controls the operation of a valve (3) in the hydraulic drive (1).</p> |
