Plastisols, which gel to homogeneous, solid and toughly elastic materials in 120-180 degrees C temp. range, are produced from emulsion or suspension polymers of vinyl chloride, using highly aromatic oil as plasticiser, with density of 1.00-1.13, pref. 1.08-1.12 g/cc and boiling range of 220-450, pref. 280-420 degrees C, obtd. by distillation from residual oils formed in manufacture of olefins by pyrolysis of petroleum fractions. These plastisols, which contain 20-70, pref. 40-60 wt.% oil, are used for production of film, sheet and coatings. Oil has good compatibility with PVC. |
