<p>Method of suppressing the anodic effect in the electrolysis of Al in which the anodes are vibrated at a frequency between 1 and 300 Hz and an amplitude of 0.01 to 50 mm. The anodic system is constructed so that it has a calculated characteristic frequency add the vibrating force is sabout equal to this characteristic frequency. The system may be vibrated by a force set up mechanically, electrically, electromagnetically or pneumatically. The vibration starts automatically immediately the effect appears and is cut off immediately it ceases without any interruption to the electrolysis.</p> |
