The invention concerns a method for mixing of fluids by means of one or more rotating agitators, in which mixing intensity is significantly improved by controlling the rotational frequency of the agitators according to a periodically smoothly oscillating time function. This means that the effect conveyed to the fluid by the agitator shafts depends on the time according to a time function or similar function. With several agitators their rotational speeds oscillate phase-shifted relative to each other. <IMAGE>
