PURPOSE:An apparatus having a simple structure capable of absorbing warm water in grains before heating thereof, subjecting the grains to specific treatment during transferring the grains in each bucket, heating the grains by circulation by steam and boiling or cooking the grains with saved energy and high efficiency to give a tasty food. CONSTITUTION:Grains, e.g. rice, are charged into each intermittently moving bucket 13 in a constant amount and dipped in hot water at 50-60 deg.C in a hot water tank 3 rising in stopping the bucket 13. The grains absorb water by repeating the above-mentioned operation. The grains in each bucket 13 then reach above a steam pipe 41 and are heated with steam at about 100 deg.C, dipped in hot water at about 100 deg.C in the second hot water tank 5 to absorb water. The grains absorbing the hot water at about 100 deg.C are dropped downward and transferred to the starting end part of a belt conveyor 2 to evaporate free water on the surface of the grains. The grains are discharged from a discharge outlet 24 provided on the terminal end part of the belt conveyor 2. Thereby, the aimed tasty cooked grains sufficiently absorbing water without gelatinizing the surface are obtained. |
