Process for starting the extraction of the product formed by continuous casting between rotating rolls which are energetically cooled by the internal circulation of a coolant fluid and which define, together with the lateral closing walls, the pouring basin, according to which process use is made of a starting bar comprising an anchorage head (9) provided with two flexible lateral wings (11, 12) extending it parallel to the axis (5, 6) of the rolls (1, 2), gradually diverging from one another from their base which is fixed to the said head, the wings (11, 12) defining, in combination with the lateral closing walls, (3, 4), a temporary basin, the said temporary basin is filled with molten metal and is continuously fed at the same time that the rolls (1, 2) are set in rotation about their axis (5, 6) and that the starting bar is drawn downwards, which process is characterized in that the head (9), which carries an anchorage part (10) intended to fasten the solidified metal, is disposed below the plane (13) containing the axis of the rolls, such that the free ends of the wings rest resiliently on the casting rolls above the said plane (13), the said temporary basin being narrower than the pouring basin.</p> |
