<p>PURPOSE:To measure the slack degree of a transmission line accurately and easily even in mist and nighttime by allowing a self-running measuring instrument equipped with a lamp and an acoustic wave generator to run by itself, determining the position and distance of the measuring instrument with the lamp and an acoustic wave and stopping it at a target position, and measuring the slack degree of the power transmission line. CONSTITUTION:The measuring instrument 1 is mounted on an electric wire H which is extended between steel towers I1 and I2 and under construction and then a driving command for a driving motor 6 is transmitted from a transmitter 31 to drive the driving motor 6; and reels 4 and 4 for running are driven to rotate and the measuring instrument 1 is run to nearby the specific target position. At this time, a lamp on-off command is transmitted from the transmitter 31 to turn on and off the halogen lamp 18 and the position of the measuring instrument 1 is recognized visually; and a measurement signal is transmitted to generate an acoustic wave by the acoustic wave generator 20 and the distance to the measuring instrument 1 is determined on the basis of the propagation time of the acoustic wave, thereby stopping the measuring instrument 1 at the specific desired position.</p> |
