Continuous-casting machine for thin sheet metal, comprising a casting wheel (5) driven in rotation about a shaft (30), limited on its periphery by a casting wall (51) cylindrical in shape, centered on the shaft (50) and equipped with means (52) for cooling the casting wall (51), and a feed tank (7) into which the liquid metal is poured, the said tank (7) being applied tightly against the casting wheel (5) and equipped at its base, on the downstream side in the direction of rotation of the wheel (5), with an outlet orifice (77) opening out into a casting cavity (10) limited on one face by casting wall (51) of the wheel (5) and on the other by a circular wall (11) combined with cooling means (113) and having an inner face (111) in the shape of a portion of a cylinder centred on the shaft of the wheel and with a radius greater than that of the casting wall (51) by a distance equal to the thickness of the sheet to be cast, characterized in that the feed tank (7) comprises a bottomless cavity (70) with a rectangular section, limited by four substantially vertical walls, a longitudinal wall (73) placed on the upstream side in the direction of rotation of the wheel (5), two transverse walls (75) and a front wall (74) placed on the downstream side respectively and that the circular wall (11) consists of a separate element, fastened on the upstream side, to the base of the front wall (74) and followed, on the downstream side, by a secondary device (4) for guiding and cooling the cast sheet (3), comprising at least one circular plate (41) for application of the sheet (3) against the casting wall (51).</p> |
