The invention relates to a device for heating and thoroughly mixing materials which are used for producing road surfacing and are partly waste asphalt intended for reuse and partly new material. A horizontal drum (1) rotating about its longitudinal axis has at one end a burner lying with its jet direction coaxially to the longitudinal axis of the drum and a feed device for waste asphalt and at the other end a feed device (5) for new material. The drum is arranged within a housing (7) in such a manner that, between the housing and drum, there is an annular chamber which, at the drum end with the burner, is connected to the inner chamber of the drum and has a discharge opening. The invention is essentially characterized in that the housing (7) has a wall which is made of insulating material, counteracts the thermal radiation and extends over only a part of the length of the drum (1) and said housing has, at its opposite end from the drum end with the feed device (5) for new material, the discharge opening (11) for the processed material in a region in which said processed material has the desired processing temperature, which is significantly below the temperature in the region of the burner (2), whereas the exhaust gas outlet (13) and the feed device (5) for new material are located at the drum end disposed outside the housing end, in a region in which the exhaust gas temperature ... in turn ...
