The teat cup cluster is designed to limit the injuries caused to the teats by mechanical milking, in which the milking vacuum is permanently higher than or equal to the pulsation vacuum, and is periodically relaxed in synchronism with the pulsation vacuum. This double requirement is met by the introduction of an elastic membrane (5) that produces a front and back pumping action and, if necessary shuts off and adjusts the pulsation vacuum, and a device (7) permitting a periodic admission of air. The reduction in the milking vacuum brought about by the presence of the milk is offset by the pumping action of the membrane (5) and by improved evacuation of the milk during the massaging phase, and is corrected by adjustment of the pulsation vacuum as soon as these mechanisms prove insufficient. <IMAGE>
