A space-saving, light-weight, easily manufactured clamping bar, which holds the whole length of the edge of a printed circuit board with practically the same clamping power, is created as follows. Each of the clamping parts (5) which are threaded onto a central threaded spindle (4) has a depression (5a) in the form of a wedge, a cone and a sphere at its rear end, and this depression engages with the tip (5b) of the next clamping part (5), which has corresponding slanting surfaces. The end of the clamping part with the depression has at least one longitudinal slot parallel to the axis of the spindle, to allow the surfaces of the clamping part to spring apart. The line of clamping parts (5) can have a pressure part (6), with a tip (6b), arranged at the front, and a separator, with a depression at each end, arranged at the rear, to extend the effective clamping length. The clamping bar is prevented from falling apart before it is finally assembled by a round sealing ring (7), which bears on the pressure part (6), and is pushed onto the threaded spindle (4). <IMAGE>
