The bucket-wheel excavator has a frame (1) to which a boom (3) is linked in such a way as to be pivotable about an axis (2). The boom (3) carries a bucket wheel (4) and is supported at its top chord (10) via hydraulic cylinder-piston units (11) on either side of the longitudinal axis of the boom (3) on the frame (1). The pivot axes (12) of the hydraulic cylinder-piston units (11) here lie close to the bottom edge (9) of the frame and, on account of the C-shaped design of the frame in plan view, lie well ahead of the pivot axis (2) of the boom (3) on the frame. <IMAGE> |
