PURPOSE:To obtain a noise insulating material excellent in noise absorbing and insulating performances by sandwiching a semi-independent foamed material of synthetic resin with the same synthetic resin sheet at both sides and sealing the edges of the material so sandwiched. CONSTITUTION:The subject noise insulating material is so constituted that the layer 2 of a semi-independent foamed material (i.e. material containing about 50% independent foaming) is sandwiched by a surface sheet 1 and a back sheet 3, and the edges of the concerned sandwich construction are sealed for giving monolithic construction. In the manufacture of the aforementioned material, synthetic resin such as vinyl chloride resin is first mixed with a plasticizer, a stabilizer and the like and rolled into a sheet. Then, such resin as mixed with a foaming agent is rolled thereon in a layer form. The material so made is heated to a mold, thereby obtaining double-layer construction comprising the surface sheet 1 and the foamed sheet 2. Thereafter, a similar resin sheet (back sheet) 3 is bonded to the foamed layer 2 via a bonding agent 4 and then the edges thereof are sealed. |
