The invention relates to a device allowing automatic disinfection of telephone apparatuses, in particular of the receiver thereof. It consists of a gas or aerosol container 6 having disinfectant and bactericidal action, the said gas or aerosol being spread around the receiver through exit nipples 5a, 5b. Delivery of the gas is supervised by a control device 7 which can itself be driven by a timer 8. The receiver is enclosed in a closed container consisting of a casing 1 provided with an access door. The device according to the invention is intended for the disinfecting of telephone apparatuses, in particular those for public use. <IMAGE>
