The invention relates to a turbulence burner and a method of combusting coal dust and/or fuel oil, in particular for narrow, greatly cooled combustion spaces, e.g. flame pipes, but also for uncooled combustion chambers. The object of the invention is the environment-friendly combustion of coal dust and/or fuel oil. The aim of the invention is to produce a suitable burner and the associated method for low-nitrogen-oxide combustion of coal dust and/or fuel oil. According to the invention, an oil nozzle connection surrounded by an air cooling pipe is arranged centrally, and both are surrounded concentrically by a primary air supply pipe so that a primary air annular duct is formed. For cooling the nozzle head, a connection pipe with a throttle is provided. Via a secondary air housing, a vane ring and a diffuser, secondary air which is greatly swirled passes to the burner mouth. As a result of optimum air and fuel guidance and highly turbulent flow, a low-nitrogen-oxide combustion is achieved.
