PURPOSE:To well fit an abrasive tape to the shape of the surface of a magnetic head, on which the tape slides, so as to abrade the surface sufficiently, by containing a hard abradant having the hardness more than Morse hardness 6 in a covering layer for assuring the abrasive work on the tape sliding surface, and using a specified binder therefor. CONSTITUTION:A covering layer 2 is formed on a non-magnetic supporting member 1, said layer 2 being formed by kneading an abradant having the hardness more than Morse hardness 6, a relatively hard binder made of vinyl chrolide-acetic acid vinyl copolymer, a relatively soft binder whose end has prepolymer having isocianate radical, a flexible binder not so hard made of an organic amine used as a hardener, and additives. After an abrasive tape, to which the layer 2 is applied, is fitted well to the shape of the surface of a magnetic head on which the tape slides, the whole surface is abraded fully with sureness by the abrasive tape. |
