In multiple-electrode welding by the submerged-arc welding process, two or more electrodes are arranged one behind the other. Here, at least the second electrode - as viewed in the welding direction - is designed as a solid strip or filler strip. The melting efficiency can thereby be increased compared with welding units with a multiple-wire arrangement without increasing the number of electrodes. At the same time, however, a reduction in the penetration is achieved so that the addition of parent metal to the welding deposit is reduced. <IMAGE> |
