PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain good printing even on paper having any surface state, by providing a means for roughening the printing surface of printing paper to the front stage part of printing. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 2 having an ink emitting part 2a is mounted on a carriage 1 which is fixed to a part of a belt 4 by a belt engaging part 1a. Pinch rollers 9, 10 are pressed to a platen 6 by an energizing means such as a leaf spring and printing paper 11 is sent by rotating the platen 6 while held between the platen 6 and the pinch rollers 9, 10. At least one of the pinch rollers 9, 10 forms a cylindrical surface having a grinding stone like form and the printing surface of the printing paper 11 is roughened when said printing paper 11 passed between the platen 6 being a printing pre-stage and the pinch roller 10. By this method, the water absorbing property of the printing surface is improved and good printing quality can be obtained. |
