PURPOSE:To enable the surface temperature of a friction plate element to be suppressed from increasing, by switching a speed change shift in accordance with a speed change map changed by a speed change interval. CONSTITUTION:If a timer t1 is in a predetermined value T0 or less, a counter N1 is compared with a predetermined number N0 (step 260). When the counter N1 is in a value not reaching the predetermined number N0, no action is performed. When the counter N1 reaches the predetermined number N0, a speed change map is changed into the speed change map, whose speed change point is set lower than that of the ordinary speed change map (step 270), and a timer t4 is started (step 280). Accordingly, the surface temperature of a friction plate element can be suppressed from increasing even if a speed change interval decreases short.
