In a device for the application of flowable compositions, in a housing which can be closed by means of a closure cap, a piston is arranged on a piston rod movable in the longitudinal direction, which piston has on the side facing away from the dispensing opening a non-return mechanism. In addition, a diaphragm is firmly arranged on the piston rod which bears with its front side against an opening and, on displacement of the piston rod, releases said opening. The device serves principally for the application of colouring liquids such as are used in cosmetics, for example nail polishes, or for the application of solvents and adhesives.
