PURPOSE:To form a sharp cut surface as in the case of a single purpose machine by supporting a laser machining head on a floor type support frame other than the support frame of the machining head of a composite machine tool and applying said laser machining head to the surface of a sheet metal on a sheet placing table. CONSTITUTION:When moving to a laser machining operation, a cylinder 26 is extended to move a movable table 17 in a direction parting from a lower turret 3l, a window space 28 is formed right in front of the lower turret 3l, and a cradle device 32 is lifted up to form a sheet metal supporting surface which is continued to the movable table 17, with the top of the cradle device 32. And, a cutting operation is carried out for a sheet metal W which is interposedly held by a work holder 23 and moved on the sheet metal supporting surface, with a simultaneously lowered laser machining head L, as in the case of punching. When the cutting operation is completed, the cylinder 26 is contracted, a movable board part is inclined, and a cut-out piece is slid down on an inclined chute-type movable plate 42 and carried out into a collecting box out of the machine by means of a discharge conveyor provided right underneath. Accordingly, it is not necessary to wait for a punching head to damp down before starting operation. |
