The invention relates to an apparatus for injection without a needle comprising a cylinder body 2 enclosing a plunger 3, a reservoir of injection liquid, an injection orifice and a device 6 for triggering injection and arming. According to the invention, the device 6 for triggering injection and arming comprises driven means 8, 31 adapted in order to push the furthest end 11 of the plunger 3 from the injection orifice 5 rapidly from the position for arming the plunger to its end of injection position, against the effect of return means 46 allowing the plunger to be returned to the arming position at the end of travel of the pushing means 8, 31, once the latter have been disengaged. The invention applies to apparatuses for injection without a needle, in particular for large-scale vaccinations. <IMAGE>
