PURPOSE:To improve the development efficiency of an emulator, and to make the emulator small in size by utilizing a function block of a part of an existing single chip microcomputer which is brought to packaging, as a function block of a part of the emulator of a semiconductor device of a single chip microcomputer which is being developed. CONSTITUTION:A function block for constituting an existing single chip microcomputer 2 consists of a CPU4, a RAM6, a ROM8, a programmable logic 16, etc., and as for the programmable logic 16, for instance, a PLA, etc. provided with an AND array and an OR array which are both rewritable electrically can be used. Chips 18-1-18-3 of three different functions are made by preparing three pieces of chips 2, and executing each different programming by utilizing the programmable logic 16. That is to say, a figure A has functions of the CPU4 and the RAM6, a figure B has a function of an S.C.I.12, and a figure C has functions of a timer/counter 10 and an I/O port 14. |
