Solvent-surfactant drying compsn. comprises 1,1,2-trichloro1,2,2- trifluoroethane (1), plus 0.05-0.5 wt.% lineear dodecylbenzene sulphonic acid amine slat (II); 0.05-0.5 wt.% polyphosphoric ester acid anhydride (III) prepd. by reacting a 4-12C alkanol with dimeric phosphoric acid derived from P205 and 0.05-1 wt.% demulsifier (IV). (IV) is an acetylenic diol opt. mixed with a 6-12C aliphatic prim. alcohol or phosphate tri(3-12C) ester. esp. a mixt. of 2,4,7,9- tetramethyl-5-decyn-4-7-diol(Na) and n-octanol is used as (IV). The ratio (II):(IV) is pref. 3:1 and (III):(II) plus (IV) is 1:15. The compsn. is used to clean /dry nonabsorbent articles (e.g. metals, glass or ceramics) by immersion of less than 2 min. in the compsn, removal and then evaporating residual solvent in less than 30 sec.
