PURPOSE:To decrease the min. density of a dye image density and to increase the max. density by chemically associating an acid component to the reaction system of a photosensitive material which is heated in the presence of a base after or simultaneously with imagewise exposure and is thereby formed with an imagewise distribution of mobile dyes. CONSTITUTION:The acid component is chemically associated to the reaction system to heat the photosensitive material contg. at least photosensitive silver halide, binder and dye donative material on a base in the presence of water after or simultaneously with imagewise exposure and to form the image thereof by the imagewise distribution of the mobile dyes. Such acid component may be any of an org. acid, inorg. acid or the compd. which can generate these acids. The amt. the exitence thereof is preferably the substantial amt. at which pH is kept at <=8.5. The acid component is preferably associated to the reaction system after the required amt. of the mobile dyes are formed or released. The acid component which melts and diffuses when heated and is solid at an ordinary temp. is preliminarily added to the photosensitive material and/or dye fixing layer, etc. for the above-mentioned purpose. The image having the good image discriminatability of high Dmax and low Dmin is thus obtd. |
