<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the memory capacity used for an LUT (table lookup) even when a signal level is increased by converting the LUT compressing an input signal and inputting the compressed signal so as to convert the signal into an object value. CONSTITUTION:Signal compression circuits 6A, 6B and data conversion circuits 7A, 7B constitute a signal converter. A signal operating circuit 2 halves an input signal. The data in the binary expression corresponds to 1 digit shift. Then the most significant digit is neglected, 64-level is added to be inputted to a data converting circuit 3. In this example, the compression of 1/2 is applied in the section of 64-127 and the compression of 1/4 is applied in the section of 128-255. The input signal is compressed in this way and the compressed signal is used as an address input to form a conversion table outputting a prescribed level thereby constituting a data conversion circuit 3. Thus, the memory capacity used as the LUT is reduced efficiently.</p> |
