1314952 Benzamides ISTITUTO CHEMIOTERAPICO ITALIANO SpA 27 May 1971 [26 June 1970] 17700/71 Heading C2C Novel benzamides of the formula wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 , which may be the same or different, is methyl, ethyl or propyl, A is a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 2 to 8 carbon atoms, one of which is substituted with one carboxylic acid group and X is OH, NH 2 or OR 4 where R 4 is C alkyl and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are prepared by reacting the appropriate trialkoxybenzoic acids or reactive derivatives thereof with compounds of the formula H 2 N-A-COX. Alternatively compounds in which X is OH may be converted to compound in which X is NH 2 or OR 4 . Pharmaceutical compositions, suitable for oral or parenteral administration, contain the above compounds and suitable carriers. The compounds are used for the treatment and prophylaxis of ischemic cardiac disorders. |
