PURPOSE:To provide a hair tonic containing oleanolic acid compound and/or ursolic acid compound, exhibiting excellent hair tonic effect by the inhibition of reductase activity, effective by local application, free from systemic side effect and having low skin irritation and high safety. CONSTITUTION:The objective hair tonic can be produced by compounding one or more compounds of formula (R1 is H, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, NH3, 1-6C alkyl, 2-6C alkanolamine, basic amino acid salt or 1-20C straight- chain or branched alkyl; R2 is or 2-20C straight-chain or branched acyl; one of R3 and R4 is H and the other is CH3). The amount of the compound is 0.001-10wt%, preferably 0.01-3wt% in dry basis based on the whole hair tonic composition. The hair tonic has extremely excellent hair tonic effect by the above activities and high safety and is free from side effect. |
