<p>PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently diagnose an error recovery function against an error at its generating time by instructing the error compulsorily and instructing a recovery process content against the error based upon the report of the error, etc. CONSTITUTION:An error code is outputted from an error instruction part 11 in a controller 1 corresponding to an instruction to set the error from a host device 4, and the code at an error code storing part 22 in a tape handling unit 2 is stored, then an error output is generated from an error generating decoding circuit in the storing part 22 that instructs the execution of a sequence and the error is reported to an error detection part 12 in the controller 1 through an error reporting part 23. Then, the detection part 12 detects the generated error and instructs the recovery process content against the error to the instruction part 11 and a diagnosis for the error recovery function at the generating time of the error at the controller 1 can be easily and efficiently performed without using a human work nor connecting a diagnostic device.</p> |
