PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of color mixture even if a developing device other than the developing device set first to the developing state is set to the developing state to perform the copying operation, by holding information of developing devices though a copying device is stopped on the way of the copying operation and a power source is turned off and removing developers in developing devices on the basis of held information if necessary when the power source is turned on again. CONSTITUTION:When a power switch 20 and a copy switch 21 are turned on after the power switch 20 is turned off to remove paper jam, a controller 26 judges the next control sequence on the basis of the selection signal from a developing device selecting switch 22 because the time of selection of the first developing device 7 and the time of stop due to jam are stored in a nonvolatile memory 35; and if the second developing device 8 is selected, the first magnet roll clutch 29 is turned on for a prescribed time (t) to remove the developer on the first magnet roll clutch 29, and thus, the developer of the first developing device 7 is removed. After a prescribed time, the second developing device 8 is set to the developing state. |
