The adjacent mould walls (11, 12) pivot between a first position where they are in a vertical stance and one where they are horizontal. The distance between the wall edges furthest from each other when both are in the horizontal position corresponds to the height of the item being moulded. - A lifting device (17) is used to raise a first plate (2) cast in the first mould from its horizontal position (L1) to one vertical (L2), with the part of the first plate (2) locating against the wall during the rotation of the latter around its horizontal axis (13) from its first to its second position. The lifting device then lowers the first plate (2) to a horizontal position (L4) over the second mould, with the parts (7) of the beam-form component (4) furtherst from the first plate (2) locating against the rotatable wall (12) of the second mould, this wall (12) rotating from its second to its first position. |
