PURPOSE:To simplify structure and to enable certain operation by dispensing with the exclusive power in a recovery system, by using a tension pulley applying tension to a wire for driving a carriage as a running block to operate a suction pump. CONSTITUTION:The titled printer is equipped with a carriage 16 reciprocally moving along a platen, a wire 20 for driving a carriage wound around take-up pulleys 37, 38 driven by a motor 36, a tension pulley 24, an ink-sucking pump 30 and a means for removing the slackening of the wire. By this constitution, action as a running block in connection with the operation of the carriage 16 is provided to the motor 36 for driving the carriage 16 so as to allow said motor to perform non-emission recovery operation to enable the ink-sucking pump 30 to operate. The slackening of the wire generated at the time of recovery operation is absorbed by the slackening removing means and, even if the tensioning mount route of the wire is altered, operated can be accurately performed. |
