PURPOSE:To obtain a stable sensitive material having very high contrast and undergoing no deterioration in the performance even after storage at high temp. and humidity by incorporating specified compounds into hydrophilic colloidal layers including a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:When hydrophilic colloidal layers including at least one silver halide emulsion layer are formed on a support by coating, a compound represented by formula 1 and at least one kind of compound represented by formula 2, 3 or 4 are incorporated into the hydrophilic colloidal layers. In the formula 1, each of R1-R3 is H or a group showing a negative value as Hammett's sigma-value (sigmap) and X<-> is an anion. In formula 2, each of R4-R6 is 1-12C alkyl, alkenyl or the like, a salt thereof or H. In formula 3, each of R7-R9 is H, halogen or optionally substituted amino, the substituent may be hydroxy, R16 is optionally substituted 1-8C alkyl and the substituent may be phosphoric acid. In formula 4, each of R11 and R12 is H or optionally substituted amino, the substituent may be hydroxy, R13 is optionally substituted 1-8C alkyl and the substituent may be phosphoric acid. It is necessary that the triphenyltetrazolium compound represented by formula 1 has electron donative groups as the substituents R1-R3 of the phenyl groups. |
