A filling and emptying device for flexible containers 6 equipped with grasping straps 10 or grasping sheaths consists of a metal framework including a stable base part 1, supporting one or more vertical posts 2 on which a first bracket 3 supporting a funnel 5 for channelling the matter can be placed, which funnel allows, according to its position with respect to the flexible container 6, the said container to be filled or emptied, and on which posts a second bracket 7 can slide which is substantially horizontal and serves as a support for the flexible container and is composed of two arms 8 made from horizontal U-shaped metal sections cut to a point and whose wings 9 are directed upwards, which arms are connected to one another by a horizontal cross-member and on which the straps 10 of the said container 6 can be hooked with the aid of a lifting carriage whose fork can engage in the said arms, the said second bracket 7 being connected via force-transmission means 11, 12 to a counterweight 13, and being capable of resting on removable stops 19 provided on the said posts. <IMAGE>
